Tempe landmark Rula Bula closing its doors after 20 years along Mill Avenue

Owner: Iconic Irish pub and restaurant future is in peril

Rula Bula Tempe Irish Pub and Restaurant, the iconic watering hole found along Mill Avenue, announced last month it would be closing down at the end of June after more than 20 years of business.

A community landmark decked with authentic Irish furnishings, Rula Bula has been a hotspot for Tempe residents throughout the years, especially around St. Patrick’s Day.

In order to transform Rula Bula into the beloved gathering space, it is today, Steve Goumas, founder of the pub, spent $1 million renovating the current building.
