The Arizona Biltmore’s Frank Lloyd Wright Ballroom was filled with hundreds of Arizona community members from all over Arizona at the recent Arizona League of Cities conference, spreading joy and kindness with one another from Quartzsite to Eager; Page to Nogales, and everywhere in between.
The National League of Cities and Towns also made an appearance with Tempe Councilmember Doreen Garlid, who sits on the leadership as second vice president, speaking on behalf of the organization, pushing civility guidelines for all municipalities in Arizona.
“Sometimes at council meetings or other meetings, we get into heated discussions and I think we forget to first start with kindness and respect, which makes this civility pledge really important,” Garlid said after her speech.
