Progress continues on the Downtown Tempe Streetscape Improvement Project, which aims to revitalize the Mill Avenue corridor, as city council recently awarded and ratified construction contracts related to the project.
Tempe City Council voted to approve two construction contracts totalling nearly $26.5 million during its Dec. 19 meeting for streetscape improvements on Mill Avenue from Rio Salado Parkway to University Drive. Both contracts were approved unanimously, 7-0.
The first contract was for Achen-Gardner Construction’s services to provide construction services to complete the project, according to a city staff report by Decima Sever, public works administrative manager.
