Tempe commission reviews general plan on July 25

INDEPENDENT NEWSMEDIA
The Tempe Development Review Commission will examine the city’s General Plan 2050 at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at city hall, 31 E. Fifth St.
The plan has changed as members of the community have commented, leading to “a balance of what people have asked about density, cultural resource areas and infrastructure,” city officials said in a release.
The general plan guides how Tempe plans for land use, transportation, economic development, historic preservation, cultural amenities, human services, recreation, open space, sustainability and more, according to the release.
All Arizona cities are required to update their general plans every 10 years.
More than 3,000 people have contributed to the creation of the Tempe plan thus far, city officials said.
