The Tempe Development Review Commission voted at its April 22 meeting to recommend the approval of documents and a zoning map amendment related to a new 29-story mixed-use development, 7th Street Residential.
This new development will consist of 818 dwelling units and 3,083 square feet of commercial space at 108 E. Seventh St., as explained by Karen Stovall, senior planner, in a city staff report.
The commission ultimately voted at the meeting to recommend that Tempe City Council approve the zoning map amendment at a future meeting, passing 5-2. Commissioners Linda Spears and Charles Redman voted in dissent.
