Tempe closes roads for Oktoberfest

This weekend in downtown Tempe, thousands of patrons are expected to attend either Oktoberfest at Tempe Beach Park or the Arizona State v. Hawaii football game at Mountain America Stadium. 

No additional roads will close on Oct. 10 for the football game but the following roads will be closed through Oct. 11.

Patrons are encouraged to download Tempe TRiP, a free app that shows available parking in Tempe. Valley Metro light rail and Streetcar will also be operating throughout the weekend.

Tempe closes roads for Oktoberfest

This weekend in downtown Tempe, thousands of patrons are expected to attend either Oktoberfest at Tempe Beach Park or the Arizona State v. Hawaii football game at Mountain America Stadium. 

No additional roads will close on Oct. 10 for the football game but the following roads will be closed through Oct. 11.

Patrons are encouraged to download Tempe TRiP, a free app that shows available parking in Tempe. Valley Metro light rail and Streetcar will also be operating throughout the weekend. 

There are no anticipated route changes for the Orbit bus or other trasportation. 

Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. until Oct. 11 at 8 p.m./event close:

  • Westbound Rio Salado Parkway is closed between Mill Avenue and Lakeside Drive.
  • Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway is closed between Hardy Drive and Mill Avenue.
  • Southbound Mill Avenue is closed between Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway. Please note: the sidewalk will also be closed; however, northbound Mill Avenue will remain open.
  • Northbound Ash Avenue is closed at Third Street.
  • Eastbound First Street is closed at Rio Salado Parkway.
