Tempe will be turning out the lights at City Hall for one hour on Saturday to commemorate Earth Hour.

The lights will be off 8:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, March 25, as the city joins a global grassroots movement to protect the environment.

The city encourages everyone in the community to do the same, switch off lights and “do something good for the planet,” a Tempe release stated.

Mayor Corey Woods will proclaim the one-hour period Earth Hour at the council’s work study session on Thursday, March 23.
