Tempe City Council OKs internal budget transfer to build Fire Station 6 barrier

Officials: Loss of public property spurs need for gate

The Tempe Fire Department has requested --- and now approved by Tempe City Council earlier this month --- a transfer of funds to help the construction of Fire Station 6, 655 Ash Ave.

The request of the transfer of funds stems from the construction of Fire station 7, which was completed below budget, municipal officials report.

The budget transfer from Fire Station 6 to Fire Station 7 is $20,000 and would accommodate the $5,600 outstanding cost to the ongoing threat mitigation project, a Dec. 3 city report states.
