Tempe City Council moves forward with recreational marijuana zoning stipulations

Tempe City Council recently hosted two public hearings in an effort to draft rules around how the recreational use of cannabis --- for those 21 years of age or better --- will ultimately be regulated throughout the city.

City Council meetings have since moved online and residents can attend virtually and submit a public comment to be read at least two hours before. Meetings concerning marijuana regulation in Tempe have been taking place since December 2020 and were completed as of Feb. 11 --- on the heels of the final public hearing.

After residents voted to legalize recreational marijuana with an overwhelming margin of voters approving Proposition 207 last November, municipalities across Arizona have begun prepping to support and regulate the way existing medical dispensaries conduct business to maintain order in day-to-day life.
