Aunt Chilada’s receives new business permits for site bordering Phoenix

Concern for increased noise disturbances from residents nearby

Located within the Arizona Grand Resort, Aunt Chilada’s, a Mexican restaurant open since 1986 in Tempe, recently caused some concern for neighboring communities about excessive noise with extended hours of operation.

During the July 26 development review commission meeting in Tempe, the commissioners discussed and voted on Aunt Chilada’s requests for two business permits that would include the restaurant in the resort’s liquor license and allow indoor and outdoor live entertainment, including DJs and bands.

In a city report by senior planner Lee Jimenez, he detailed the owners of the restaurant, Arizona Grand Resort, “reorganized the business” with the restaurant being operated in conjunction with the resort.
