Salt River Project recently distributed more than 2,200 heat-relief kits to local nonprofits that support those in need of assistance.
The Tempe-based utility gave out the kits, which included a backpack, wide-brim hat, reusable water bottle, cooling towel, sunglasses, first aid kit, sunscreen and aloe, during an event late last month.
Among the nonprofits benefiting from SRP’s funding and volunteers were the Salvation Army, Circle the City, Project Humanities and the Tempe Community Action Agency.
