The Telegraph Fire in the Globe Ranger District has burned 180,753 acres and is 89% contained. The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. June 4 south of Superior, was human caused and is under investigation.
A total of 326 personnel are fighting the fire, which has burned 52 structures, according to the website for InciWeb, an interagency all-risk incident information management system.
Yesterday, crews made significant progress with suppression repair efforts, including rehabilitating fire control lines along the U.S. Route 60 corridor and near El Capitan and back-hauling equipment used in firefighting efforts. Firefighters continued to monitor scattered hot spots near Tuxedo Junction and utilize crews and aircraft as necessary to prevent fire spread. The Incident Management Team supported firefighting efforts throughout Arizona by sending resources to other active incidents, such as the Rafael and Backbone Fires, the website states.
