The Telegraph Fire in the Globe Ranger District has burned 180,685 acres and is 87% contained. The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. June 4 south of Superior, was human caused and is under investigation.
A total of 518 personnel are fighting the fire, which has burned 51 structures, according to the website for InciWeb, an interagency all-risk incident information management system.
Overnight, favorable conditions resulted in minimal fire growth and fire containment increased to 87%. The southeast corner of the fire on Mescal Mountain experienced scattered heat pockets. Firefighters continued to monitor the fire and potential threats to the communities along Dripping Springs Road and the State Route 77 and 177 corridors, the website states.
