Phoenix police have detained three teenagers in connection with a hit and run that injured a 71-year-old pedestrian.
The collision occurred about 6 a.m. Sept. 7 when a KIA Optima struck the man near 3700 West Aire Libre Avenue, police said.
The man was injured seriously, and the juveniles are being investigated for the hit-and-run aggravated assault, police reported Friday.
Following the collision, the car crashed into other vehicles before hitting a structure, according to a release.
Police said the teens fled on foot, and the vehicle was stolen.
