The collision involved a vehicle and a teenage pedestrian. According to reports, the teenager was riding a scooter when he was struck along Greenway Road.
The teen has not been identified, and it does not appear anyone was cited or arrested at the scene.
A GoFundMe names the victim, matching with a name on the Maricopa County Office of the Medical Examiner website. The Daily Independent is not linking or naming the victim out of respect for the privacy of his family, per their request. At least one other local outlet names him in its report.
Surprise police also said Friday afternoon that there are no updates on the collision.
