Teen Mental Health First Aid expanding in Chandler schools

Not all of the mental health tools Chandler Unified School District is implementing involve staff only. One new program involves high school students themselves.

Teen Mental Health First Aid is a National Council for Mental Wellbeing program recently adopted by CUSD as part of its effort to deal more effectively with mental illness.

With students and parents regularly showing up at CUSD Governing Board meetings and saying mental health is a serious problem in the district in recent years, the peer-to-peer program is one of the tools.
