Teen joyride ends in crash, West Valley power outage

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after he is suspected of stealing his brother’s Jeep for an early morning ride with friends that led to a crash and power outage, Buckeye police said.

The crash occurred just before 3 a.m. July 7 near Antelope Trail and 239th Avenue. The Jeep plowed through an electrical box and narrowly missed a house, police said.

Utility crews restored power to the area, and police arrested the teen on charges of reckless driving, criminal damage, hit and run and unlawful use of the vehicle.
