Teen dies after being shot Monday afternoon in Phoenix

A teenage boy died Monday at a hospital after he was shot near 52nd Avenue and Almeria Road, Phoenix police said.

The shooting occurred about 1:30 p.m. Dec. 23. The victim, who had at least one gunshot wound, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest, police said.
