Teen dies 11 days after Phoenix park shooting

Posted

A 17-year-old died Saturday, 11 days after being shot at Cesar Chavez Park, police said.

Daron Jackson was pronounced dead April 12, and Phoenix police are continuing to investigate the case, which also resulted in a woman being injured.

At about 8 p.m. April 1, officers responded to 35th Avenue and Baseline Road where they found  Jackson in a parking lot. He was taken to a hospital.

Officers then received information from a nearby hospital about a woman who walked in with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The woman, who was treated and released, said she was at the scene of the shooting.
