A 17-year-old male has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a shooting that left a man injured at a bus stop near Scottsdale Road and Main Street on May 24.

Two other 16-year-olds who were allegedly involved in the shooting were arrested by police on May 28 due to tips they received from the public following a media release of their photo from a surveillance camera, according to a Scottsdale Police Department press release.

The shooting victim suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body and was treated and released from the hospital, the release said.

Police are not releasing the names of the suspects because they are juveniles.
Officers responded to a shooting call at a bus stop near Scottsdale Road and Main Street on May 24 at about 7:40 p.m. and located an adult male shooting victim with a single gunshot wound to the lower body.

The suspects were described as three young adults or teenagers who fled from the scene, the release said.

Searches were conducted of the surrounding area, but the suspects were not located that evening.

The victim was transported to the hospital, treated for the gunshot wound, and released within 24 hours. The shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation on a bus that escalated with one of the teens allegedly shooting the victim once they all exited the bus, according to the release.

Detectives worked on leads and obtained surveillance camera footage from surrounding businesses. A surveillance camera photo was shared with the community and media on May 28, and soon after, one of the male juveniles and the female juvenile were arrested based on incoming tips and information from the community, the release said.

The male juvenile was booked on misdemeanor charges of assault and disorderly conduct, and the female juvenile was booked on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct, according to the release.
They were booked and released.

Around 5:15 a.m. on June 5, the third suspect was arrested after follow-up and surveillance efforts located him at a residence in Phoenix, the release said. He was booked on charges of attempted first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
