The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office just after 4 p.m. Feb. 15 responded to emergency calls for service in reference to a vehicle accident in Mesa.
Witnesses reported a black vehicle traveling south on 98th Street at Broadway Road in Mesa when it failed to yield from a stop sign and collided with a black motorized bicycle that was traveling west on Broadway Road, MCSO said.
The rider of the bicycle, a 55-year-old man, was ejected from the bicycle by the collision. The black vehicle fled the scene without stopping or returning to the scene. The victim was transported from the scene to Banner Desert Hospital with a head injury that was life-threatening.
