Recent consumer surveys and industry studies reveal electric vehicles continue to gain traction in an automobile market dominated by fuel-guzzling SUVs.
A report out this week from Salt River Project — based on the utility provider’s survey of its EV-driving customers — revealed most found recharging their cars was more affordable than expected.
Published annually, SRP’s Electric Vehicle Community survey asked 1,269 customers between Aug. 24 and Sept. 17 about their experiences charging EVs; and 39% of respondents said the costs were “lower” or “much lower” than expected. Half of respondents said costs were equal to their expectations; while 9% said the costs were higher than expected.
