Queen Creek Unified School District’s Department of Elementary Curriculum and Professional Learning is helping children become financially responsible with a special seminar class called "How Money Works for Kids."
The seminar was presented last week by a professional investment adviser and covered numerous topics such as how to create good money habits, how to be a good example with money, and how to teach children to understand how money works.
Jamie Wolf, who has two students who attend QCUSD schools, attended the seminar to help improve her financial responsibility.
"I wanted to find a way that was healthy to guide my kids in a responsible way," Wolf said.
Although Wolf's children are under the age of 8, she says she likes the information shared about the importance of teaching her children about money, even at a young age.
"I think it is important to talk to our kids about money, so they will be better set," Wolf said. "I want my kids to be set up the best they can be."
