OPINION — Just read your article on teachers not getting paid enough money and keeping up with the cost of living. Well, welcome to our party. Senior citizens living on Social Security checks every month don't even come close to what the cost of living is and it has been that way for a very long time.
Maybe you could write about that and educate the community on how rough it is for older folks to get by every day because of lack of funds.
One more thing about the teachers: How many teachers skipped school yesterday and gave their students the day off to go protest at a political rally? Using school kids as pawns to gain political power is a disgrace. If teachers started doing their jobs better, then the national scores for students in math, reading and science would not be so low.
