T. Robert (Bob) Martin, of Winfield, KS, died on March 17, 2018. He just celebrated his 101st birthday.Born March 1, 1917, in Claremore, OK, Bob moved to Tulsa and attended Central High School. He graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, where he attended on a wrestling scholarship. He later became a well-known wrestling official.He married Bette Barnes in 1948. Married for 49 years, both were golf enthusiasts and traveled the U.S. visiting golf courses before her death in 1998. He was a member of Sun City Country Club where the 13th Hole was dedicated to him and one of his favorite sayings, "You've got to have awl the shots."He worked for 37 years at Amoco Corporation in Tulsa. In 1983 he retired to Sun City, AZ, which he called "God's Country." He resided there for 27 years before living briefly in Dallas, TX, and Winfield, KS, as his health declined.Bob was a 63-year member of the Masons. A Past Master of Pilgrim Rock Lodge in Tulsa, he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a member of the Tulsa Scottish Rite and El Zaribah Shrine in Phoenix, AZ. The members of the Roy Stanley Masonic Lodge in Dallas and the Winfield Lodge welcomed him into their brotherhood.He was a member of East Side Christian Church in Tulsa, Sun City Christian Church in Sun City, Northway Christian Church in Dallas, Grace United Methodist Church in Winfield, KS, and Central Christian Church in Arkansas City, KS.Since his wrestling days, he exercised to maintain his health. Until the age of 92, he golfed at least three times a week, then switched to Silver Sneakers, an exercise program for seniors.He is survived by his daughters Cheryne McBride, and her husband David, of Bronxville, NY; Vikki Martin, and her husband Robert Brown, of Dallas, TX; and Cindy Stevens, and her husband Jim, of Winfield, KS; his grandson and his wife, David and Wenli McBride, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, and his great- grandson, David McBride III. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Freeda Martin; his sister, Freeda Harrold; and his son, Robert Reeder Martin.Donations can be made to Sunshine Services at 9980 W.
