SWAT team called in for welfare check in Glendale

Earlier this morning Glendale police were called in for a welfare check which led a man to aim a weapon at the officers, and ended with his arrest.

SWAT team called in for welfare check in Glendale

Glendale Police were called in for a welfare check early Monday morning that led a man to aim a weapon at the officers and ended with his arrest.

Glendale police responded to a welfare call near 67th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

As officers knocked on the door, the man answered and pointed a firearm  at officers, police said.

The man procedded to barricade himself inside his home while the SWAT team was called in, police said.

He was taken into custody after a few hours, according to police, who did not release the name of the man.
