A 35-year-old man died while driving his scooter Tuesday morning following a collision with an SUV in the 700 block of West McDowell Road, police said.
The crash occurred about 9:05 a.m. June 17 at 7th Avenue and McDowell Road where officers found a man on the road and an SUV stopped nearby.
Fire department personnel responded and treated Thomas Frost before taking him to a hospital where he died from his injuries, police said. The SUV driver showed no signs of impairment.
Preliminary information suggests the SUV was making a left turn to go south onto 7th Avenue from McDowell Road when it struck the scooter, which was heading east on McDowell Road, police said, adding the investigation remains active.
