Suspect ID'd, charged with attempted murder after 4 DPS troopers shot in Phoenix

A 51-year-old man was identified Saturday and charged with 18 counts of attempted first-degree murder in connection with last week’s shooting that injured four Arizona troopers.

Darrelle Bell was booked and is in jail on a $1 million cash-only bond, authorities stated in Feb. 7 releases.

The suspect was hospitalized following a shootout with troopers that occurred as they were attempting to serve a search warrant at about 7:10 p.m. Feb. 5 in the 2400 block of West Indian School Road, Phoenix, police said.
