SUPERIOR COURT

Suspect from fatal Tempe road rage shooting indicted on drug charges

A Maricopa County grand jury has indicted a man from a deadly road rage shooting, but on drug charges and not for the shooting itself.

Dustin Jackson, 46, was indicted for two counts of drug use by a grand jury alleging he used cocaine on the day he shot Stevan Bevan with a handgun, according to court records. Possessing and using narcotics is classified as a felony in Arizona according to state law.

Jackson had his daughter in the back seat of his pickup truck during the incident. After obtaining a search warrant for the vehicle following the incident, Tempe Police found white powder in the glovebox that was found to be a usable amount of cocaine after testing.
