A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with a mobile home fire that left two dead and sent another to a hospital, Phoenix police said Wednesday.

Officers responded about 9:45 a.m. Nov. 24 to a fire in the 2200 block of East Michigan Avenue.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and found two victims had died.

Phoenix police arson investigators, along with members of the Violent Crimes Bureau, assumed the investigation and identified, located and arrested Joel Hernandez Anaya who was taken to Phoenix Police Department headquarters.

In his post Miranda interview, police said the suspect made incriminating statements and was booked into Maricopa County Jail on multiple felony charges, including two counts of reckless manslaughter and two counts of attempted manslaughter.

The victims’ names will not be released until next of kin is notified, police said.
