Glendale police made an arrest in connection to a 2022 Christmas burglary.
Travis Szydelko, 34, is facing charges of burglary, criminal damage and misconduct involving weapons.
On Sunday, Dec. 25, two victims, who were Phoenix firefighters, reported that an unknown suspect made entry into their home near the 5500 block of Joan De Arc Avenue and stole more than $10,000 worth of guns, ammunition, hunting supplies and personal belongings.
In addition, the victim’s dog was let out of the home and went missing. The dog, named Bear, was found two days later in a nearby neighborhood and returned home.
After Glendale police detectives investigated this case for more than five months they were able to use forensic and DNA evidence to allegedly connect Szydelko to the burglary.
Detectives discovered Szydelko was living in and out of two homes near the victim’s home. On May 4 detectives conducted a search warrant on the two homes, and arrested Szydelko.
Identifiable property that was taken during the burglary was allegedly located.
