SUSD's Desert Mountain student group meeting leads to feelings of antisemitism

Counselors available for overwhelmed students

A joint meeting of two student clubs at Desert Mountain High School recently left some Jewish students feeling targeted and one student calling over social media for a walkout.

After speaking to school officials, the student took down his social media post and no walkout occurred.

The meeting took place Nov. 2 with UNICEF and Amnesty International student groups. The meeting featured a slide show called “A Call to Action, Gaza’s Humanitarian Emergency” about the aftermath of the Israel-Hamas war.
