SUSD Superintendent Menzel gets raise, contract extension

Scottsdale Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel got a raise and a three-year contract extension during the June 23 district governing board meeting.

The board voted 3-2 to give Menzel a raise from $225,000 annually to $245,000 in his base pay. Menzel is not eligible for a performance pay bump next year, according to the vote, but is eligible for a boost of $5,000 each in the next two years.

Board President Dr. Donna Lewis, Vice President Mike Sharkey and board member Dr. Matthew Pittinsky voted in favor of the raise and contract extension.
