SUSD safe from Canvas ransomware attack

Scottsdale Unified School District has not been affected by the Canvas software cybersecurity incident earlier this week that has since been upgraded to a ransomware attack.

“We have procured Canvas but not yet implemented it,” District spokeswoman Cymphanie Sherman said in an email to the Daily Independent. “There are no staff or student data syncs as of yet.”

Canvas is widely used by school districts across the nation, but it is unknown at this point if any Valley districts have been affected.
