SUSD promotes two of its own to principals

In July, two Scottsdale Unified School District assistant principals will take the reins of the schools they’ve been serving as seconds-in-command.

The district’s governing board voted during it’s March 4 meeting to elevate Maggie Finan to the principal’s post at Hohokam Elementary School and Zachary Woodward to the principal’s post at Cherokee Elementary School, according to a press release.

Finan will succeed award-winning, 30-year district educator Chuck Rantala; while, Woodward takes over from 15-year Cherokee Principal and 32-year veteran educator Walt Chantler.
