Scottsdale Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Scott Menzel kicked off the governing board’s Aug. 29 meeting by celebrating the district’s middle school fall sports festival, which took place Aug. 26.
“We had 872 students who participated,” Menzel said.
That broke down into 317 student athletes for boys baseball and 555 for girls volleyball.
Menzel thanked the grounds crew, the coaches and the student athletes.
“It’s always a joy to watch our students participate and I just love to see how supportive they are of each other,” Menzel said.
