SUSD Governing Board won’t use Robert’s Rules of Order

Some members feel they are necessary for clarity and respect in meetings

The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board will not be using Roberts Rules of Order to govern procedure at board meetings.

The board voted 3-2 during its Oct. 3 meeting not to use the procedural guide with board vice president Carine Werner and board members Amy Carney and Zach Lindsay voting against it.

The vote came with almost no discussion after the issue had become contentious during previous meetings.
