SUSD governing board members want to trim administrative costs

Cuts to make Scottsdale Unified School District’s 2025-26 budget balance need to come from administrative offices, rather than from individual school’s budgets, according to two members of the district’s governing board.

With an ever-decreasing student population and the possible loss of Prop 123 money next year, the district’s budget is going to be extremely tight, SUSD Chief Financial Officer Shannon Crosier told the governing board during its Feb. 11 meeting.

Student weighted count reduction for next year could be as much as 483.5 students which translates into a funding reduction of $2.9 million for next year.
