The Scottsdale Unified School District Governing Board unanimously approved the district’s academic goals - known as key performance indicators - for the 2024-25 school year during its Sept. 10 meeting.
The KPIs included things like, “Increase the percent of students showing academic proficiency from third to fourth grade by three percentage points or greater on (Arizona’s Academic Standards Assessment) spring 2025 (test),” when it came to third grade English Language Arts.
But while the KPIs where approved unanimously, board member Amy Carney said she was disappointed in some of them. For instance she would have liked to seen the increased proficiency rating for third grade English Language Arts students at 5% instead of 3%.
