SUSD expert: Eliminating DOE could lead to legal question on funding oversight

The U.S. Department of Education could be on the chopping block when President-elect Donald Trump takes office in January, according to the Associated Press.

Trump might also use federal funding to enforce his views on teaching of subjects such as critical race theory and gender ideology, the AP has reported.

However, Scottsdale Unified School District spokeswoman Kristine Harrington notes cuts for school spending are not a forgone conclusion just because the Department Of Education goes away.
