Valley residents prefer a light rail extension along Interstate 10 into west Phoenix over an option to create an exclusive busway, according to a 2020 survey.
After positive feedback from the public about whether to connect the light rail line to Desert Sky Mall, Valley Metro has reconsidered the one-mile Desert Sky extension from “optional” to “recommended.”
As Phoenix’s Maryvale Village Planning Committee received an update on the light rail extensions during its meeting last week, Gene Derie said the Desert Sky extension should be a certainty.
