Surprise's Wingenroth among top paid in Valley

City manager is 5th in salary among peers

When Surprise City Manager Bob Wingenroth returned to lead the city government last year, he came back to a sweet financial package.

Using public records, the Daily Independent recently compared the salaries of all municipal employees across the Valley. It found that Wingenroth’s salary of $295,020 per year puts him fifth in the Valley for highest paid city employees.

Wingenroth could soon reach the $300,000 mark, which would make him one of five managers in the Valley to reach that benchmark.
