Surprise's 1st police substation is one step closer

Surprise is making way for its first police substation.

The city council on April 1 pre-authorized the exchange of 3 acres of land the city currently owns in the northwest area with 3 acres of adjacent property currently owned by Asante Development Partners.

The council also preliminariy agreed to purchase of two more acres of ADP land, giving the future substation 5 acres with which to work on 163rd Avenue, south of Happy Valley Road and next to Fire Station 304.
