If there was a silver lining out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Surprise City Councilmember Aly Cline said it is this: The city was able to find out just how underserved the Original Town Site was for high-speed Internet.
But thanks to an Arizona Broadband Development Grant, the city’s old Heritage District and the Surprise City Center will soon be boosted with 40 linear miles of broadband fiber, a project valued at around $1.84 million.
“In the Heritage District, we’re a little bit in a catchup mode,” Surprise Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic told the City Council earlier this month.
