Surprise voters extend EPCOR franchise

Surprise voters overwhelmingly approved an extension of a franchise for EPCOR Water Arizona Inc. during the Nov. 2 election.

The only item on the ballot for Surprise voters was approved with 79% of the vote in unofficial totals.

It received 16,198 votes in favor with 4,216 against. Nearly 22% of eligible Surprise voters took part in the mail-in election.
