Surprise to host adaptive gingerbread house party

Posted

Get your ugly sweaters ready for an evening of camaraderie, artistry and holiday spirit at an adaptive gingerbread house party on Monday, Dec. 4 at the Sierra Montana Recreation Center, 14861 N. Spring Lane, in Surprise.

Each participant will receive his or her own gingerbread house to decorate, allowing for personalized expressions of holiday cheer.

As we indulge in hot cocoa and revel in the joyful sounds of holiday music, this delightful event promises to foster a warm and festive atmosphere.

This social event is designed for individuals ages 16 and up with intellectual, developmental or physical disabilities.

Participants will have an opportunity to meet others, share social experiences and enjoy a fun activity.

As this event is designed for adult participants, our aim is to provide an evening of independence and socialization with current and new friends.

Parents are highly encouraged to drop off and return for pick up at the conclustion of the event.

Admission for this event is $20 for residents, $22 for non-residents.

To sign up, visit surpriseaz.gov/SurpriseRec and click on the adaptive recreation tab.
