Surprise to continue in child exploitation, trafficking task force

The Surprise Police Department plans to continue its participation in the Greater Phoenix Area Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.

The Surprise City Council on Tuesday, Aug. 4 is expected to approve a memorandum of understanding between the Police and FBI, which leads the task force of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies that focuses on investigating child exploitation and human trafficking.

The MOU will promote information sharing and coordinated investigations, and the city said it will also enhance collaboration of agencies to protect victims and hold offenders accountable.
