A teenager faces arson and endangerment charges in connection with a Saturday night fire that damaged a Surprise home.
Personnel from the Surprise police and fire-medical departments responded to the house fire near Cotton and Paradise lanes at about 10:55 p.m. July 19, according to a release.
All of those inside the house were able to leave, and no injuries were reported. The fire damaged the home, but nearby houses were not affected, authorities said.

A teenager faces arson and endangerment charges in connection with a Saturday night fire that damaged a Surprise home.
Personnel from the Surprise police and fire-medical departments responded to the house fire near Cotton and Paradise lanes at about 10:55 p.m. July 19, according to a release.
All of those inside the house were able to leave, and no injuries were reported. The fire damaged the home, but nearby houses were not affected, authorities said.
“Officers learned the fire had been intentionally set. A teenager living in the home was taken into custody and is facing criminal charges,” the Surprise Police Department release stated.
“We urge all residents to talk to their families, especially young individuals, about the importance of fire safety and the severe consequences of fire-setting behavior. Fire is unpredictable and can cause irreversible harm in moments.”
