Surprise city leaders have long wanted a signature event to bring people in from across the Valley and even further.

Now, they’re literally putting their money where their mouths are.

The long-delayed Rib Fest Throwdown, which was originally supposed to happen in 2020 before COVID-19 struck, is getting a major cash infusion from the Surprise City Council to give it the makings of a major food and music festival for years to come.
