Surprise police shoot person who hit officer with car

Suspect, detective are both expected to be OK

Surprise police were involved in their second shooting with a suspect in a Walmart parking lot in less than a year on Feb. 6. But this time the suspect lived, and an officer was hurt.

Police said one person was shot but suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the Walmart parking lot at Bell Road and Grand Avenue.

The shooting came after the suspect hit an officer with a car while police were trying to arrest the suspect and another person.
